The brief introduction of Xunzhen Senior Middle School of Hequ county Written by Li Wenying Xunzhen Senior Middle Shool of Hequ cuonty in Shanxi province was founded in October 1952, and it was in 1964 that the early name of Provincial Hequ high school was changed into its present name. The original site is located in Hebei Village, Xunzhen Town, covering 46 mu,and it was the largest school in Northwest of Shanxi Province ,which set up a branch campus in 1958, which was later renamed the Hequ high school II,that is, the predecessor of the present Hequ high school. Into the new century, because of the unfavorable geographical context of being away from the county town,the development of Xunzhen senior Shool got into trouble gradually at ont time. Sizing up the situation, looking into a long run and funding 30 million yuan, the Hequ county government has built a new campus in the Northwest of the Beiyuan village. On August 1, 2006 the Xunzhen high school moved back to the county city. The new campus covers an area of 120 mu, and building area is 25, 600 square meters. The entire campus is spacious and clean;teaching buildings and office buildings are laid out in order; the dormitory as well as multi-functional canteen stands side by side. Completely supporting facilities inside the building including modern laboratories, language labs, computer rooms, an amphitheater make her a school with first-class facilities in the Northwest of shanxi province and the largest campus.
Since 58 years ago, the school has fostered more than 25,000 students. The students are all over the country, some even drifting over the sea, as can be described as peaches and plums all over the world, some of whom are like Academician of Engineering Liu Yao, such Yan Zhiguo as a talented writer. Her college entrance examination has had two great glory:the first time was the last century 60's, the rate of which ranked provincial forefront of the college entrance examination so that it becomes famous far and wide. The second time was the late eighties of last century, retaining its first place of up to line rate of Xinzhou District for several years. " Going to Tsinghua University, into Peking University" was the goal of the then students;”entering all over the national famous university” is the capital the school is proud of. So Xunzhen Middle School was known as the "Pearl of the Yellow River shore," "the cradle of talents in the Northwest of Shanxi ", attracting students from all over the province to the school. Into the nineties, the enrollment rate has dropped somewhat, but from time to time there are students admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University. With the new century arriving , the principal, Lu Feng, led the new leadership to follow the times and update school philosophy, expanding the scale of running the school system from four to eight-track system, complying with requirements of quality education, and offering specialty classes including music,P.E and art.As a result , Xunzhen Senior Middle School has come to life once again.
